Terms & Conditions
Legal - Updated June 2026
The terms on which you may use our website and buy from us.
On this page
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions govern your use of the website operated by The Pet Assembly Ltd and your purchase of products from us. By using our site or placing an order, you accept these terms in full.
2. Using Our Site
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse the site by introducing malicious code or attempting to gain unauthorised access. We may update or withdraw the site at any time without notice.
3. Orders & Contract
When you place an order you will receive an acknowledgement email. This is not acceptance of your order. A contract is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation. We may decline an order, for example if a product is out of stock or there is a pricing error.
4. Pricing & Payment
All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout. We take payment at the time you place your order, through our secure payment provider. We make every effort to ensure prices are correct, but if we discover an error we will let you know before dispatching.
5. Delivery
We deliver within the United Kingdom. Estimated timings and costs are set out on our Shipping Policy page.
6. Returns
Your rights to return products are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy and are in addition to your statutory rights.
7. Product Descriptions
We describe every product as accurately as we can, based on our own testing. Images and descriptions are for guidance; colours may vary slightly depending on your screen. Slight natural variation in materials is not a fault.
8. Our Photography & Imagery
We believe in being open about how our images are made. Our testers are real animals, our own six dogs and two cats, and the photographs on this site are based on real photographs of them. To present them consistently and beautifully across the site, some images are refined or enhanced using AI-assisted tools, for example to improve lighting, tidy a background, or show a product clearly.
Animals are also famously difficult to direct. Getting a dog or a cat to hold a pose is hard enough, and a photograph featuring several of them together, all looking the right way at the same time, is very nearly impossible to capture in a single frame. In those cases we photograph our testers individually and use AI-assisted tools to bring them together into one scene. The animals in those images are still ours and still real, we have simply combined real photographs of them into a single picture.
This never changes the substance of what we tell you. Every product is genuinely tested by our animals in real life before it is listed. Capturing a perfect photograph in the middle of a muddy walk or a long nap is not always possible, so we sometimes use these tools to turn a real moment into a clean, on-brand image. The testing is real, the animals are real, and the results we describe are real, the enhancement only affects how the picture looks, never whether the product was tested or how it performed.
If you would ever like to know more about how a particular image was produced, we are happy to tell you, just email hello@thepetassembly.co.uk.
9. Our Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the price of the products you purchased.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on this site, including text, photography, logos and design, is owned by or licensed to The Pet Assembly Ltd and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce it without our written permission.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
