Meet The Testers
The Real Team · Quality Control
Five dogs and two cats. Every product is approved by this team before it reaches you.
The Fussiest quality control team
A team of Seven. Every product earns their approval.
Every product on The Pet Assembly has been worn, used and assessed by our pets before it reaches the site. Five dogs handle the canine range, Baxter, Maggie, Woody, Gem and Bella. Two cats handle everything feline, Kimba and Kimi. If it doesn’t pass with them, it doesn’t pass at all.
Kimba
MAINE COON
Age: 4 | Role: Chief Feline Tester
Magnificent, long-haired and entirely in charge. Kimba road-tests feline harnesses, leads, beds and outdoor accessories with the calm authority of a cat who has never once doubted himself.
Kimi
CHARTREUX
Age: 2 | Role: Junior Feline Tester
Dense, blue-grey and entirely unbothered. Kimi handles toys, play accessories, bowls and everyday cat items, testing each with the relaxed thoroughness of a cat in no particular hurry.
Gem
Fox Red Labrador
Age: 5 | Role: Chief Collar & Lead Tester
The confidence of a dog twice her size and the attention span she chooses to have. Her rubber ducky goes everywhere, so our leads get the enthusiastic real-world use most products quietly hope to avoid.
Bella
Siberian Husky x Golden Retriever
Age: 8 | Role; Senior Outdoor & Harness Tester
The endurance of a sled dog and the softness of something that would rather be a blanket. She runs long, pulls hard, and is indifferent to weather, which makes her harness results especially useful. Owed cheese, always.
Baxter
Black Labrador
Age: 1 | Role: Head of Lead & Harness Testing
The Assembly’s most uncomplicated tester. If he can set off at full speed without thinking about what he’s wearing, it passes. Not subtle, but always right.
Woody
Great Dane
Age: 6 | Energy: Role: Head of Large Breed Testing
A body most harnesses were not designed for, and the patience to help us find the ones that were. He is gentle, dignified, and, for the record, not a horse.
Maggie
Labradoodle
Age: 1 | Role:Junior Tester
Arrived with great energy and few opinions, a situation since reversed entirely. Leads must allow investigation; collars must not interrupt the pub. She is learning, and extremely fast.

The Pet Assembly
Assembly Associates
The Assembly occasionally calls on additional testers - friends’ dogs or cats who help with specific product categories. Assembly Associates are credited on the product pages they test. If your dog would like to join, email hello@thepetassembly.co.uk.
