Tested by Woody, our Large Breed Correspondent – a six-year-old brindle Great Dane who requires a meaningful quantity of water on any walk of over thirty minutes and whose head, at full height, clears most standard dog water products entirely. The Squeeze Bottle in Blue was used across four walks of between forty minutes and two hours. The 800ml capacity covered all four without requiring a refill. The fold-out trough was large enough for Woody to drink comfortably without his snout pressing against the sides; the squeeze mechanism delivered water at a rate that kept pace with his drinking. The trough returned water cleanly on each release with no dripping. The bottle was carried in a jacket side pocket on two walks and in a bag side pocket on two more; it did not leak on any occasion. Workshop test: the squeeze mechanism was cycled three hundred times without any failure of the trough hinge or body integrity.

His verdict: he stood and waited for it on the second walk before the bottle was unclipped, which constitutes a settled routine.
