Shape: rounded donut/pretzel-shaped step-in ring with two leg-hole cutouts, dense plush faux fur exterior

Fittings: grey woven fabric loop and silver D-ring on top for the lead; grey reinforcement tabs at the leg-holes, some with a reflective strip

Closure: step into the two leg-holes, then draw the ring up and buckle it closed at the top of the back beside the D-ring – no need to pull over the head

Tested by Kimba, our Chief Feline Tester – a large adult male Maine Coon with a magnificent long coat and the calm authority of a cat who has never once doubted himself. The Fluffy Harness Set in Green L was fitted for a series of supervised garden outings. Kimba stepped into both leg-holes without fuss, the ring was drawn up around his chest and sides, and the back buckle closed cleanly beside the D-ring without disturbing his considerable coat. The grey reinforcement tabs held their shape under his weight with no stretching or pulling loose. The matching lead attached cleanly to the top D-ring and was used without any twisting across the full test period. Kimba tolerated the fitting with the detached patience of a cat doing the humans a favour.

His verdict: accepted, on the understanding that this was entirely his idea.
